JK Theatre Arts run sessions across 40 weeks of the year with theatre camps running during Easter and Summer holidays.
We use Zoom Pro to deliver our virtual sessions. We added to our current Safeguarding Policy to cover the use of this platform for our virtual teaching.
Our policy for virtual teaching is as follows:
All parents will be informed of the dates and times of sessions and the adults who will be in these platforms
Parents are advised not to share the meeting ID or password.
The JK Team will set clear rules of engagement for working on digital platforms. These rules will be in line with the Code of Conduct used at JK when working face to face .
The Zoom account of the Parent/Guardian's must be used and not the child's or young person's
Parents/Guardians are asked to ensure that children & young people are appropriately dressed for class.
Parents/Guardians are asked to ensure that the live session takes place in an open space, a room with the door open or with a parent present
The JK Team will be the only adults present in digital platform sessions.
The waiting room has been enabled for each session and children can only enter with host permission.
All students are 'muted' on arrival . The JK Host will adjust as students arrive.
Screen sharing will only be operated by the Host and teachers
We will only record an online session with prior permission from parents/guardians
We will not be using ‘breakout’ rooms for sessions
Once all students have entered the session, the meeting room will be locked to ensure only those signed up to the club can enter.
We aim to ensure that by using the measures above that our students are safe, and can enjoy their theatre sessions with parental confidence in our provision.
